Stopped by Heimannm's place today to put our heads together on a Iowa GTG. We came up with a date of Nov 6th or 13th. Would like to see your opinions on the date. Ofcourse we can't make everyone happy but close.

The site is basically set up already with only small details to be worked out. Doesn't have to be anything special. Two campgrounds within 8 miles and plenty of shelter if it rains or snows. Zip is 50673 rural.

Well I have been up there the last two years and it seems to get later each year. I am willing to make the drive but November can be very nasty not to mention I will be in full stride of trapping season by then. In any event I guess I will see what others think.

Mark musta have pulled my leg as he told me there ain't no trees in Iowa....:chainsaw:

Feels that way most of the time, corn and beans rule the landscape here. Last decent study I read stated Iowa has 2.05 miliion acres of forest containing 63 species. This summer lumber producers were working seven miles north of my home.

Hope to see you. Last several years the snow fall has held out til the first weekend of Dec.

As for the date, I didn't want to intrude on others plans for there GTG. Also harvest is in full swing late October. Location being a working farm, trying to keep it less congested.

Nov 6th for me. Got BADGER-Hoosier football tix for the 13th.

Indiana 42 - Wisconsin 38. Great game but not the outcome you hoped for, you would have been better off at the GTG.

I am anxiously looking forward to this of course, but we did want to be considerate to the other GTG's planned. I've been up to Grandpatractors a couple of times in March so it's not likely to be any worse than that. Besides, we can probably find a few sticks to make a campfire when I get cold.
