For all you 017~018 hot rod wannabes.

I found a WT-215 carb on a 021 parts saw I bought and thought I'd give it a go on my 017. Very easy to change it over (see photo) black arrow remove brass plug from impulse hole (you can do this from inside the chamber with a small screw driver it pops out) plug old impulse hole with JB weld red arrow. Now remove the throttle plate and shaft from both carbs, use the throttle shaft from your original carb and install it in the 215, yeah it's the same other then the end. Put the throttle plate from the 215 back in, no need to monkey with linkage the original linkage works perfectly with this setup.

funny to see this thread just cleaned up an 018 its going to fleabay becuase the carb is a piece. I rebiult it but just cant get that thing right, and dont want to spend money on a carb for that little saw. Plus then the wifey sees some going out and not coming in,lol

I put one of these on my 017 very easy swap ! Don't forget to do a muffler mod now that you can richen it up-the saw really wakes up.!

I found the C1Q carb ,from a 018, to have a different shaft diameter than the WT-215. However, the WT-215 worked fine once the linkage is twisted into the end of the shaft.
The deader charged me the same price for the WT-215 as a C1Q.:D

Old thread someone started, I bought a fully adjustable new carb for an 017 on ebay a few months ago and it worked well and was only $10 shipped.
