Stihl MS440 Year of Manufacture ??

Can anyone tell me what year my MS440 serial number 157630103 was made ? I know it's an EPA series I emissions if that helps.

Is the tag on the rear handle still readable. There should be a 4 digit date on there like 07-04 or something like that.

My newer stihls say DOM (which I assume is date of manufacture) followed by the month and year. This one says MD 0211. So are the older ones manufacture date and then the year followed by the month ??

In 2008, Stihl switched the month and year for some reason.
The only proof I have of this is by the saws, blowers, and trimmers
I have bought. 20 or so units from 1994 until Dec 2010.

Thanks for the quick replies. The two newer saws I was looking at were american made as opposed to the german made 440 so I was thinking maybe thats why the date codes were different. You learn something new everyday, and today I learned two! I've always wondered why the screwdriver tip on a stihl scrench is ground down the way they are on the sides. Well today while I was cleaning up the MS440 and searching for the piece of wire I use to clean the bar rails I realized why they are ground down that way! Only took me 20+ years to fiqure that one out.
