Stihl, Tank vents

My 064 has two grubs in the vent tube.....but it has a hole
in the tank, like the 026 has for the vent valve. If the valve
fits will it work on the 064 or other Stihl saws. (I don't know if it
would give any carb problems)

Stick her in there, if the hose is good you know the hole is, wink,LOL, naaaaaaaa, messing with ya. Those old type vents with the grub screws are on alot of older Stihl saws.

yes... and it will let you have positive pressure in the tank, which helps starting...

You can also just get rid of the grub screw thingy, and put the same vent that's used on an MS290... on the end of a longer piece of fuel hose, them find somewhere to mount it with RTV goop.

Good Deal!..............because it has one it it now........ yet to run it
with it installed. I have two more saws that will also get the new vent

Only when the EPA is dead and gone....

They pretty much have done.. the black type with the multiple holes in top is now standard across almost all machines

Andy or Stihltech,

On the topic of Tank Vents. Have you seen many of these clear 24/early 26 tank vents? I work on a lot of 24/26's and have only seen two of these.

white one that is, I think they are very common.
I think the clear (white) ones where before the black ones

On my 026 saw those type of vents leak a little gas out some
times, turned on its left side.........It sounds like we can install
the valve, comes up though the inside of the tank, you pull the
tower type vent off, push tit of valve up through the hole, push
with finger inside of tank, pull on the tit :blush: at the same time
then reinstall the tower vent

I have only ever seen two also... Almost all are black.

Yep.. it's a worthwhile improvement. Sometimes you need to slightly enlarge the hole - don't DRILL - use a tapered probe to move the plastic slightly...

Installed vent valve in two older 026 and 064, No more fuel seepage no
matter how the saw is turned. Now the tanks hold pressure even after
setting for awhile.

The fuel seepage was'nt that of a big deal.........but I did'nt
like all the saw dust that would stick to the fuel that had leaked out

Got a part number for this part so maybe I can make my 026 quit drooling gas/mix all over itself? As I understand it - this part goes up inside the tube the black plastic tower vent fits down over? The IPL for the 026 shows a couple other vent setups. Do they fit my old-style tank?

1110 353 1600, It should fit, pull tower off, look should be a slot with a hole in
the middle of the slot in the tank under the tower

You can't use the later two forms of vents on the older 026. What you can do though is install the flapper valve (trickier than it looks..) part number 1110 353 1600.. About $4.00.

I put a little mix oil on the vent valve, push up with one finger and
pull from the top with tweezers on the tit of the valve
