My leveaxe is getting stuck in this load of fresh oak halves. I want a new splitting axe or mail. If could buy one splitter, what would you buy?
Heck yeah. Unless he needs a big bruiser then go for the isocore!Steve will now tell you which of those, based on the answers you give him. Buy the one he recommends.
It’s the leveraxe. I’ve used one quite a bit and unless you are splitting clear softwoods it’s honestly not very good.I don't know if it's me or the leveaxe but constantly getting stuck
It’s quicker. You just stand up the rounds and whack them apart. Don’t use an expensive splitting tool though as occasionally you’ll blast though into the ground.Question. Why would you split on the ground? I thought a block was what everyone uses
If you use a block you may like the longer handled X-27. I personally prefer the shorter handled X-25 but I split on the ground. With a shorter handled tool on a block you really have to be careful.
The S2800 Husqvarna is a better splitting tool than either of the Fiskars but because it’s so front heavy it isn’t as smooth of a tool.
X27 if splitting on a blockSo which one?
