Cedar cracking in one day?

Hi, I milled an eastern red aromatic cedar yesterday and left it on the driveway overnight. Tofay, each of the 3" - 4" slabs had started cracking along the length. Is this normal?

Was the driveway surface hot from the day? Cedar is like a sponge. It can and will absorb moisture as well as having it sucked out. Wet it down.
