Down angles on Oregon 511ax grinder

What is the purpose of the 10 degrees down angles on the 511ax? I have not used this grinder that much but when I did, I always used the 0 mark. What is the purpose of the gauge on the right side of the base? When grinding the depth gauges, does the base need to be slid back or forth or titled any? Tried looking up some videos but doesn't seem to be very many videos out there on this model.

Yes, with the square cornered full chisel chain, it is best to tilt the vice.

No, ignore the square grinding for now, the "square tooth round ground" is what I am talking about, it tilts 10%, as shown in the middle drawing.

I used the file angle pic to show you how the tilt should hit the tooth.

You can’t grind a square tooth with a round grinder, the 10 degrees of down angle is for full chisel. On depth gauges go 0 degrees and depending on the wheel anywhere from 60 degrees to 85.
