So.... am I nuts? Selling Timberwolf and getting a Oregon

I have a DHT that was vertical/horizontal. After one year of messing with big stuff in vertical mode, all the pulling, pushing, tugging and such as described my opinion was this is no good. I tried rolling big rounds into tractor bucket and lifting up to splitter in horizontal but then the way...

    Splitter Lift Valve Problems

I don't know if this helps but I added another valve to my DHT splitter for a log lift. So that it goes Pump out to Control valve 1 in (splitter control) Control valve 1 out to Control valve 2 in (lift control) Control valve 2 out back to tank Tank back to pump Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

It's getting to that time! Who's lit?!

Last night was first frost on cars. Owb finally had fire this morning. It's taken a couple weeks to finally have enough ash to hold coals and not have the stove damper down so much it starves out fire. Been keeping windows open to force thermostat to cycle owb more. often. Sad to be that...

    30 inch oak.....

The big wood is my favorite. A lot of wood for a lot of work. Only a 20" bar. But gives some scale to a big piece of wood. It's hard to capture the scale. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Birch firewood

So with the "new firewood formula". 1000 pieces =cord 300=face cord So at 30 pieces this trailer load is only 1/10 of a face cord. I better get to work since I need 2 cord a month. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It's getting to that time! Who's lit?!

October 1. 12:00. I kicked the tires and after replacing draft solenoid and thermostat relay, lit the fire. Just got keeping throwing wood in for the next six months. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    OWB Annual Consumption?

Location -mid Missouri . 1953 house 2000 sqft. Original Windows and doors. Yes to hot water. Hardy h2. I fired my stove today for the winter. I figure 2 cord a month. Average. But as has been mentioned. Outside water furnaces love to burn some wood compared to indoor options. Sent from my...

    That's a big stump.

I am far from a tree expert. As far as I can tell either this oak split into two trees at ground level when it was a little acorn. And then broke when it got too big. Or there were two oaks that grew right next to each other. The other "half" of this tree basically same size is still standing...

    That's a big stump.

I thought it was interesting for a stump from a tree that was alive 6 months ago to come out of ground so easy without massive equipment. 41 hp tractor. About 31" diameter according to tape measure. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

How many times do you handle your wood.

1-drop tree 2-cut 6 to 8ft logs 3-load with forks onto trailer 4-unload with forks into pile 5-fork log next to owb when out of wood cut and let rounds land where they may. 6a-load into stove when wife says she's cold 6b-roll big round to splitter with log lift. Back to step 6a Seems like every...

    How's Your Wood Pile Looking?

Yes the majority is. Not my first choice. I had to cut the hackberry and some other to get to this oak. It is coming home tommorow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
