    Pole Saw recommendation

I've borrowed a friends ht131 several times. Have cut numerous 10-16" limbs with ease, seems to chew right through with very little throttle or effort. It is heavy and your shoulders know it the next day if you do a bunch of cutting. That tool has allowed me to cut stuff down and fall...

    Husqvarna 51/55 Advanced Timing Questions

Hey Guys, I have a next to new Husqvarna 51 that I'm working on. It was a "non-running" saw that literally just needed new mix to get it going again. I'm leaving the stock 51 piston/cylinder as it is in almost new condition but am doing a few mods to give it a little more pep. It only has...

When you start. Any available wood is good wood. Don't get hung up on getting the right wood.

What does a beginner chainsaw carver need??

A dime tip and 1/4 sprocket on a ms170 is an excellent economical starter setup. Full house 1/4 drive, oregon 25F chain is nice.

What does a beginner chainsaw carver need??

A king arther tools lancelot (google it) grinder chainsaw chain conversion. Works very well for bear fur. I use mine a lot. Use with caution as your fingers are A Lot closer to the meat eating portion. I have a glove that got a nice trim once. Was a wake up call. Slow is better.

    First Chainsaw Carving

Nice. On your base make sure to angle your cuts so the water quickly drains away on all sides to last longer.

Plunge cuts with a dime tip

I have some chains like that too. Also smoother in general. I bought mine years ago from a guy already done. It was only pennies more per link at that time.

    066 Pressure test ?

Hey Guys, thanks for your help. I tracked down a plug and put it in. It held pressure rock steady. So alls well with the rest of the saw. Then I put the decomp back in with a light coat of high temp red rtv on the upper threads and washer. Let it sit for a couple hours and retested. It...

    066 Pressure test ?

Hey Guys, I'm pressure/vac testing my 066. Vac test holds 7.5 with no change for 1 minute. Pressure test drops 1.25 psi (start 7.5psi) in 1 minute. Soap test shows slow bubbles at what looks like the base of the decomp. No other bubbles at intake, impulse, seals, cyl gasket, exhaust and carb...
