What to Replace my Dolmar 421

They never told me what was wrong with mine. It went to Chicago and Georgia , and no fix . They sent me a Chinese Makita for a replacement, which I promptly sold. Replaced it with an Echo 501p. Really nice saw light and fast in the wood .

    Best less than 50cc saw

They are all different, some good, some bad. Some want return business some just want your money. The really good ones go the extra mile to make sure you're happy with your equipment.

    Best less than 50cc saw

The 501 did have an 18" bar as standard equipment. I requested the 16" bar and chain as I feel 50 cc saws perform best with this configuration

    Best less than 50cc saw

I also have a Dollmar 5105 with 18" bar 3/8 chain a little heavier but it's a real good saw in the 50 cc category. My 501 is running .325 chain.

Does anyone have the new echo cs501p?

I like to see them with a little brown tinge . Better a little rich than to lean! That pic was from this morning I'll put the tach on it later and go from there.

Does anyone have the new echo cs501p?

The bad part about tuning myself is I void the warranty. I have a tach and a pretty good ear but I really didn't want to void the warranty until I make sure nothing else is wrong.

Does anyone have the new echo cs501p?

I asked the dealer about the tune when I bought the saw. He said they hadn't tuned the saw but they hadn't had any trouble with them . I asked if I should bring it back after 5-6 tanks and he said that wasn't necessary. Bring it back if yiuythink something is wrong with it.

Does anyone have the new echo cs501p?

I have a 501P it's on the 3rd tank of fuel. I'm happy with it so far . I got it with a 16"bar running 20LPX chain . Been cutting Beech tops for firewood. Pretty strong and as fast in the wood as my buddy's Dolmar 421. Light and easy to handle. Did any of you have to retune early? Mine seems a...

    echo cs501p?

I have a tach. Manual says 13000-13700 WOT so I'm thinking tune at around 13400-13500. This is just speculation I haven't had my 501 very long.

I found an Echo that peaked my interest
