    Tanaka 3351 from Baileys

My wife is giving me this saw for Christmas after receiving guidance from me. I am looking forward to getting it out of the box and getting it started up. CTYank sent me some tips for getting it started the first time. Any words of wisdom from anyone else on getting it started the first time? It...

    Tanaka 3351 from Baileys

Heys guys, I have been reading that this saw is hard to get started out of the box and heard it does not include a primer bulb on the carb but the following is copied out of the specs for the saw on Bailey's website: Carburetion: Walbro Diaphragm w/ Primer So what is the primer they refer to?

CTYank, I got the same pole saw last year but have used it little so far. I will give it a workout this coming Spring. Glad to hear you like it so much. I bought the 2 ft extension at Northern tool in case I need some more length. I am also looking forward to getting the 3351. It is suppose to...

    Tanaka 3351 from Baileys

Sounds like you will have some fun with the spare engine. I have some other Tanaka equipment that I got good deals on also. A weed eater that I got new for $99 ($330 MSRP) from a dealer that was clearing out their Tanaka inventory, a pole saw I bought from Bailey's last year at less than half...

    SpeeCo splitter

Get a side table I have a 22 ton Speeco and like it very much. I would advise you to get a bolt on side table so you don't always have to reach down for the second half of the log. Don't get Speeco's table. I tried one and the holes did not match up and it sits at an angle so the half log...

Dolmar PS 420 or PS 460?

I am looking at the Dolmar 420 ($275) or the 460 ($299). Is the 460 worth $24 more?

    Bought a Stihl 261. Did I make a mistake?

I thought about the 346 (same price as 261 here) when I was looking but several comments on AS said the 261 has more torque and thus would be a better general use saw, so I got the 261.

    Bought a Stihl 261. Did I make a mistake?

Thanks for the responses and my panties are not in a wad...haha. Just when you read things here on AS it starts you wondering what is right and so I wanted to get some feedback. I have experienced how Stihls can hold their value. Sold my very well taken care of 026 Pro for only $75 less than...

    Bought a Stihl 261. Did I make a mistake?

I had read a lot of positive comments here about the Stihl 261 and liked the looks of it at the dealer so I went ahead and bought one ($515 out the door). Today I have read some comments here on AS about Stihl doing some cost savings on parts (like cylinders) that may have lowered the...
