Any of you have issues with your hands?

Have you noticed it more with cold weather? As mentioned numerous times vibration is the main culprit. Make sure your chain stays sharp, as it dulls some will tend to try and push the saw through the wood, just adding to muscle fatigue. Feelings of pins and needles or fingers cold to the touch...

    Scrounging Firewood (and other stuff)

Do you have any opinions on the new Daily 4x4?, on paper it seems like the ute that I would want if we were allowed to have them

Modifications you really like/or things you tried that didn't work out.

Replaced the wheel on my wheelbarrow with an old lawn mower tire, much more stable and doesn't dig into soft ground as easy.

    Scrounging Firewood (and other stuff)

Thanks, I got it about half way through last season so less than 20 hrs. on it. Come middle of summer the lights come in handy as I try to hide from the sun. The tires are slightly worse at ripping ground than turf tires when you really turn sharp but its a good trade off because they dont slip...

    Wood truck

I had a 91 k1500 that was a wonderful truck, I abused the snot out of it in the 14 years I owned it. I hauled a lot of gravel and firewood and the only major thing I had to do was rebuild the rearend when the infamous gov-lock literally locked the whole rearend splitting the carrier.

    Scrounging Firewood (and other stuff)

Made myself a trailer hitch for my lawn mower recently so I could move my log splitter around easier. I had to buy the hitch ball but I had the bits of steel laying around. I just got to get myself a couple bolts to attach it, I'll have less than 10 bucks in it and should make life easier.

    Scrounging Firewood (and other stuff)

Back in the fall I cut some bamboo down that was getting to close to our power lines, I usually run it through the chipper but a coworker was suppose to come get it for his garden which never happened. It has been laying out by the road for the last few months so I decided to give it a shot as...

? isit only the foolish that heat with wood?

For the last 15+ years having winter time electric bills in the $70-$80 range as opposed to $250 plus and staying warmer at the same time, out of an initial cost of approximately $1500 for a stove, chimney and chainsaw is hardly foolish.

Dahmer I'm going to have to look into that. I'm all about saving a trip up on the roof. I restained the house this last month and between scaffolding and ladders I'm done climbing stuff.

I don't ever see myself going back to a regular bed on a pickup. Once you convert your truck you will wonder why you waited so long. The only thing I go back and forth on is wanting an aluminum bed, both steel and aluminum have there merits.

Real World Cutting-Oregon LGX vs EXL vs Stihl RS

Sounds good, Ive never used the EXL either. I tend to use the RS because that's what my co-op carries. The EXL looks high tech.
