    Onan 14 hp horizontal

This engine is in a cub cadet mower that wouldn’t start. I tried spraying carb cleaner to start and it would backfire. It has spark when wire harness is connected. I removed engine, checked flywheel key and set valve lash. Engine started on carb spray so I reinstalled. Now it won’t start again...

Stihl edger recoil spring fc 56 c

Hey- Ive put the recoil spring back in my edger and I can’t get the rope to recoil until the machine is turned off. The spring came out when putting in a new pull rope. It’s the thin one that unraveled. Anyone know if they loose their spring if they are unwound for a few days? Thanks.

Stihl 034 20" wide nose chain

I picked up a stihl 034 with a bar but no chain. Anyone know which chain I need for this saw? The bar number is 3003 000 9421 it's 3/8 and 72 dl. Thanks.

Us stove American harvest 6039 Pellet

Just picked one of these up. The reviews look pretty good on this older model. Anyone know what a used fully functioning one of these would be worth? The fellow I bOught it from said it didn't work but it was just neglected and needed cleaned. Thanks.

    Fireplace dripping water

I was at a friends cabin and when he lit the first fire of the year with his fireplace and water started to drip on the fire once it got rolling. He said it happens every year and it's only after the first fire does it drip. I think it may be due to heat loss from his forced air furnace being...

    MS 170

I have removed the screen for now, and it was clean anyway. I wish it was that easy!

    MS 170

I put a new bar and chain on the saw and tried a few cuts with it. It cuts fine for short periods of time but it's still bogging just not as bad as before. I'm gonna swap carbs and see if that fixes anything, then I guess it may be time for a leak down test.

    MS 170

@Okie - I'll try that with the chain attached and see if that is the issue with the crank seal. The carb is non adjustable other than idle so I can't adjust it.

    MS 170

So last night and this morning I started the saw without the bar and chain and it seemed to work just like it's supposed to. There is a small hesitation, but after a few rev's the saw takes off and then idles just like it should. I didn't change anything other than the parts listed above so I...

    MS 170

@bang - no I haven't changed the air filter but I can. I'm interested in seeing if switching the carb from a working saw will make this saw run correctly. I'll keep you posted.

    MS 170

@Brushwacker - No, the OEM carb wasn't adjustable and neither is the one I bought to replace it. @walterg- It is a cheap knockoff carb, so it could have something to do with it. I Have a friend with a good running 170, so maybe I'll swap carbs with his and see if that's the issue. Carb...

    MS 170

Ok guys, I've seen multiple posts about the ms170 having the same bogging issue that mine has but I never see a fix. Starts fine, idles fine, but as soon as you hit the throttle it bogs. I've tried so far 1. Carb rebuild 2. New carb 3. Fuel line/filter 4. Clean tank vent last night I thought...

Stihl 360 pro shutting off in cut

Hello- I was cutting with a friend yesterday and we were cutting up some big oak. His saw is a 360 pro with a 20" bar and after cutting for about 5 minutes his saw shut off and wouldn't restart right away but would after it sat in the 15 degree weather for a while. I pulled the muffler when we...

    Osburn 2400

Seems to me the only thing that metal piece did was "air wash" the door to keep it clean. The guy I bought it from said he had the same problem so I am wondering if there is something possibly blocking air flow? My old burner was an EPA stove and it worked fine, the guy I purchased this stove...

    Osburn 2400

Hello- I purchased a used osburn 2400 that the previous owner cut a metal angle piece from the front of the stove. He claimed he was burning his hand on the piece when loading. I noticed today on startup the thing really bellows smoke out the door way more than my highlander ever did. Is this...

    lopi wood burner

I've been looking for an inexpensive WB for my garage and saw this one on CL. Anyone know anything about this one, sorry no model number listed. Thanks

    barkless logs and rot

Ever notice how logs (especially cottonwood) with the bark off will last a lot longer in nature than the ones with bark on them as far as rot is concerned? I see old cottonwood debarked logs on sandbars where I fish and they are dry and hard as can be but in the woods the same cottonwood with...

It's time. I've decided to sell my splitter.

I gotta tell ya there's no way I'd go back to a maul. I understand the exercise part of it but parts wear out and I'd rather wear out a piece of equipment than myself!
