    Palfinger pk10000,how to power it?

no idea where you're seeing 4500psi but damn few hydraulic anythings run that much service pressure, i looked at a couple of knuckle booms on their site and what I saw was a couple with a MAX 200bar which is 2900 and that's a 'max' not service or operating pressure. you need to find out what...

    Palfinger pk10000,how to power it?

These guys cover a huge range of this stuff but you'll have a hard time finding 3:1, most gear reducers start at 5:1.. Your cheaper option is probably to find a properly sized pump that flows that you need at 3200 and use the proper flex coupling to run it direct.. Should be something around...

    Palfinger pk10000,how to power it?

serpentine options exist and hose isn't deathly expensive, but you have your hardware. normally pump would run off motor direct coupled but you bought a low RPM pump I guess. That 22hp would be at best 8hp at 1000rpm so you'll have to belt or chain drive it. Pulley or sprocket on pump needs...

    Palfinger pk10000,how to power it?

You could look at belt drive off engine. May be more work than worth or may be easy on your rig. If the engine is V belt it probably can be done, if it's serpentine it would be a lot harder. I drove a F450 diesel years ago with a Versalift bucket and it had a pretty simple 2 groove pulley and...

    Need help adjusting Fitchburg chipper

Kaptain K.. I have an old (REALLY old) Ashplundt and just finished up doing the knives and anvil. What I found is the owners manual for a Bandit 1690 is the exact same drum/blade setup my 1958 Ashplundt 16" uses. They let you download that manual from their site for free. Bearings don't...

    Drum Chipper RPM

Just in case someone finds this via a search I thought I'd post what I've found out.. In my case this girl is as old as the hills. I've been reading some patents and got most of this info from there. There's essentially 2 setups out there in drum style. One will have a smaller flywheel...

    Drum Chipper RPM

No but their service RPM is between 2500 and 3200 depending on application. Most gas engines will run in that range as work engines.. I also found that almost all Hoof governors of that era were designed to run at 2800 ideally and usually were pullied 1:1 with the motor so unless I can dig up...

    Diesel starts then dies.

If it starts it isn't likely air in injection lines, normally won't start at all or will start but run horrible. Does it stumble as it dies or just shut off? It will have a low oil pressure kill and an over heat kill. The low oil pressure kill _may_ have an automatic 'ignore' for several...

    Drum Chipper RPM

Anyone happen to know the actual drum (typical) RPM on a Asplundh style 12" chipper? I've searched and found a ton of engine RPM but that's kind of useless without the drive and driven pulley sizes. The one I'm fixing up used to have a Ford (owner said V6 but not possible given its age) but...

    Pilot bearing on twindisc clutch.

Can't speak to yours specifically but pilots will either be bushings made of cintered bronze, do not grease these or actual bearings with rollers, pack these. If it has a rubber lip seal on one end, this goes towards clutch. If no rubber seal, then one end will usually be chamfered or tapered...

    Drum Bearings

Thanks for the reply Dave but I'm not sure what chipper you have in mind. Drum isn't coming out unless the shaft is pushed out first. I've read over a dozen posts here about the type of bearing I have, all said 'went pretty easy' or 'I'll post back when it's finished' but of course no one...

    Drum Bearings

Have an older 50's/60's Asplundh drum. It should have bearings while I'm going through everything else. Still spin freely and can't induce play with a pry bar but they do have noticable growl. I did look at a series of youtube videos using a portable press where the owner pressed the shaft...

    Mystery Chipper

Brought it home today. It isn't a 16 but a 12 and originally had a 6cyl not the 330.. Found someone that knew better history of it than the owner. Stripped 1/2 dozen layers of paint and found the stamped tag. It is an Asplundh, serial is C2239 so I expect a C series so a late 50's not 60's...

Asplundh 9" chipper questions need help and/or manual

Found this thread helpful if only to find out the chipper I just bought is _really_ old :) Paid $300 cdn.. 12" drum chipper.. Didn't know until I took paint stripper to the tag that it's an Asplundh and since the serial is C2239 I expect it's a C series which makes it really old! Hasn't been...

    Mystery Chipper

Anyone recognise this chipper? Seems to be 60's, maybe early 70's. 16" and originally a 330 V8 ford power. It's frankenstiened now with a 305 chev so can't say what else has been changed around. One thing of note is it doesn't have the blower on the flywheel that blows into the discharge...
