    New Saw setup help

I did go on YouTube and was unable to find a video tuning said saw that was specific enough? I am a novice and certainly have concerns but id give it a try - that's how you learn anyway. But! I have seen it requires a special tool?

    New Saw setup help

Morning ! I am now the proud owner of a NOS Dolmar 6400 with the 7910 top end . First impressions are wow this is a beast! I have read about tuning the saw and "four stroking" which I have found some threads on . But what I haven't been able to find is what tool I need to tune this? I'm...

    Ash tree help

That was kinda the way I look at it. I mean if it was $100 - no issue. But $700 give it take every 2 years with no guarantee I just can't justify. I would hate to lose them but.....

    Ash tree help

Morning ! Sorry for the delayed reply. The two trees are 79" and 83" in circumference @ 4' from the ground. Additionally I wanted to share these pics from the previous home owner having them inoculated. The trees were due in June and I just can't justify hundreds of dollars every 2 years ...

    Weekend Score

I personally like them but everyone has a preference. I like the nostalgia of using them and they have an exhaust note second to none.

    Ash tree help

Hope this is the right forum - have to large ash trees that I would hate to loose to that bore beetle that is plaguing New York. I was quoted over $700 to inoculate my two and I just and justify $700 every two years. Is there any do it yourself remedies? They have been previously...

Need help picking a saw please!

Another question - I've been seeing videos of people porting their saws. How much would I gain in sending out my 51cc Sachs Dolmar to be ported and have the compression raised (and timing changed? ) Does this compromise reliability and longevity ?

Need help picking a saw please!

I have a friend with a Stihl 460 and it put my 114 to shame. I - being a man - now just can't let that happen. Lol. The 114 does cut the wood I need to but considerably slower than I would prefer . I make maple syrup so I'm gathering wood all year for burning. My thought would be the...

Need help picking a saw please!

Good afternoon all! I have a old Sachs Dolmar 114 but I seem to desire a few more cc' s. I have been trying to find a 133 but can't seem to. I would like to stick with the Dolmar brand but am quite ignorant to saws unlike many of you. I have been reviewing and reading up on the 7900 series...
