Update - took off the exhust/muffler. Saw starts and runs as it should and allowed me to do the reset. Put the muffler back on and boggs down, won't idle and doesn't run with bar and chain on. I have cleaned out the exhust and can feel that's air can pass through without issue. Any ideas?

After a few weeks of trying and failing I've managed to get this beauty runing like new. It came to me in many bits and not knowing what was wrong with it. After help from Lone wolf who really knows his stuff, it is now a great little saw.

I might give you a call tomorrow if that's okay. I dont want to spend all this money on it because my plan was to sell it. I don't need one. They only see for about £250 so not alot in it if I do the piston. Might sell it for spares .

Would you do a compression test before taking the head off? Ill have to go and get one from a friend. I don't want to start taking the head off if I need to replace the piston and cylinder. Too expensive. I'd rather sell

The H screw set one turn out. Nd l screw set at one turn out but teaked a little for it to stay running the longest. I'm in city so yes sea level

I thought that. But that is with the h screw tuned. It's at he point of which it's least revs! So I'm not sure what's wrong with it. When you mean rebuild the carb. You mean the full needle ect ? Or just the metering diaphragm and gaskets ?
