    mixing oil

Yamalube 2R was Great oil and still is. Only for Premix racing application. It was supposedly made by Citgo and is the Same as Sea and Snow. I tore down many bikes and they were super clean with the 2R. Belray MC1+ was another of my favorites. In my Polaris two strokes I've ran Mercury...

    Ideal fuel mix?

I totally disagree with that theory. The mixture is per air/ fluid, regardless if the oil mixed with the fuel. The idea that oil will replace air and lean a mix makes no sense to me. The oil with combust with the gas ( Why you get more smoke with more oil). I have never adjusted the air screw...

Lady on ebay selling hundreds of chainsaws

It's not about as much as the value as the amount of stuff I really don't think she knows I have. She knows I have 29 chainsaws because now it's sort of a joke but I don't think she knows about 5 lawnmowers, 4 leaf blowers, 5 weed trimmers, 3 power washers ... And the list goes on. I had 21 ATVs...

How do you decide what your "ride" is?

I just feel compelled maybe because of Nationalism to buy American, even if it's by name only. I had good luck with Ford's and Dodge. Bad luck with Chevy/ GM products. Currently I have a Dodge 2500, that I ll keep forever probably and my wife a Challenger with the 6.4 Hemi she loves. So far...

Lady on ebay selling hundreds of chainsaws

That's probably where our saws will end up at a Estate Sale and some old lady selling them on eBay. I am not sure where she is getting those prices at. I sometimes feel guilty about the amount of stuff I may be leaving my wife with, I really don't think she has any idea of what all I "Really" have.

Want to Sell Vintage Montgomery Ward Chainsaw with Original Case in PERFECT Condition

I bought a Montgomery Wards saw a couple months ago, a McCulloch 610 clone, that runs Great. I used it to cross cut oak for $15 at a Junk store. I think I pass on that saw. Out of my price range.

Who pays retail at their Stihl dealer?

Negotiating price is becoming a lost art. Imagine how many people pay sticker price for cars at dealerships. I like the haggle I was taught how to do it efficiently and I've taught my kids how to do it so they're good at dealing as well but it is a lost art. I never concern myself with whether a...

    Found this interesting....knockoff alert

As much as I use my chainsaw, the Chinese one would probably hold up. If you look at reviews, it looks like you either get a good one or bad one. Although I will say Chainsaws are probably the one product where you aren't paying just for the name but truly a better product.

    McCulloch Chain Saws

About two weeks ago I bought a Montgomery Wards 3.7 at a junk store for $15 to my surprise it started right up. It's a McCulloch 610 clone ( I have a 610). Only has a 16" bar. I cross cut some big wood with it and super impressed. I really like it. Nothing even slows it down, a real torque...

    Chinese chainsaw parts in decline?

The virus has been in China since November. They are just telling us about it as of February. So if the case is that it's on packages, you already got them in December and smelled them, touched them etc... Meanwhile all the shipping is ceasing because by now they are almost all dead. By July...

How does Coronavirus affect our industry?

Well, I think it's alot worse than they are saying. I can't ever remember any other virus or pandemic shutting China down. The way they are emptying stadiums in Europe, it's a little more than a election scheme. I see thier point on not telling the public the truth, people can't handle crisis...

    2-Stroke Mix Oil

I am going through a bunch of Poulan Pro two stroke oil I got on clearance that says it's made by Husqvarna. Usually I ll use Quick Silver TC rated oil or whatever I have on stock. I mix it 32:1 and use it in everything. Chainsaws, weed trimmers, blowers, Lawnboys, dirt bikes and ATVs.

    2-Stroke Mix Oil

Stihl oil, silver bottles, notes it Biodegradable. That's a big turn off for me. I don't feel a oil should be Biodegradable or have a shelf life. It would make me wonder if that gas is still safe if it sits for anytime. I can't even figure out why they would do such a thing since I don't think...

    Chinese orders delayed

Ever wonder if the Chinese are being less than honest with the numbers. They keep changing drastically and they are building hospitals to handle this, does that not sound fishy?

Question about 2 cycle oil mix and "multi-ratio" mix oils.

That's not really true about the Engineers designing for longactivity as much as they are to meet EPA standards. As long is that saw last till the warranties out that's what they're more worried about they're trying to move to meet the most stringent smoke control. I never run less than 40:1 and...

    Bought my first Stihl.

I bought the Husky 350 from another Pawnshop it was on the clearance pile. It said it would cut out. I suckered the price to $40, do it ended up $42 and some change with tax for it. The muffler was falling off, missing one bolt. I looked in at the piston it looked new and someone ported and...

    Bought my first Stihl.

I am not selling it. I just got it. I really like it. Sounds Great and runs Great. I only paid $45 for it at the Pawn Shop. Bought it and a Big Poulan Farm Boss 346 I think. $62.00 out the door for both.

    Bought my first Stihl.

I always wanted a Stihl because everyone hypes them up so much. Been watching for a decent one at Pawnshops. Saw a really clean, looked barely used. Lettering still in the bar, not scratched up, didn't look like it ever got run hard. It is a MS250 for $150 plus tax but I also got him to throw a...

    Bringing saws back to life

Impossible to hydrolock a two stroke. No valves. I have sunk two stroke ATVs. Flip them over drain the water out of the cylinder and they fire up again ride it the rest of the day. Two strokes are tough.

    Poulan

Poulans actually do Ok if you upgrade the chain. I don't care for the toolless chain tightener Poulan Pros. They bind the chain and the bars are so thin they flex. I have a small green Wood Shark with a Archer bar and full chisel chain and it will cut some wood and has for awhile. Nice camp saw.
