    Splicing again....some specific questions

16 strand Hey guys, I went and search back to some info for 16 strand splicing, but still confused...I have an old Neolite 1/2" braided 16 strand that I am trying to splice. On Samson's website, they say to take out the core strands from mark 'C'. Either I am totally dumb or just missing...

    Vermeer 1230 A autofeed problem

One more thing, like Mcclay said, moisture will not help. I made a rubber boot to put over my brand new selonoids to help keep water and debris out.

    Vermeer 1230 A autofeed problem

On my Morbark, the speed sensor is from the digital tachometer. When the RPM's drop to a certain point, which I can set, the infeed will stop until the RPM's build back up to a certain point, which I can set also. I was blowing fuses to the tach, but what the problem was, were my selonoid were...

Skip chain, is it worth it?

Thanks a bunch for the info, gonna try it. Also gonna try a Stihl chain too. I try to sharpen a little, often, but doesn't always work that way. How about using a bench sharpener. My buddy gave me one since he doesn't do firewood anymore. I am a little hesitant to try it, like to do it by...

Skip chain, is it worth it?

I run a 36" bar on one of my saws, just wondering if it's really worth while? I've checked other threads and seen that a lot of guys do run skip chain.

    Help, blowing morbark fuse...

Figured it out You know what it was guys? The solenoids for the auto-reverse were going bad, forward more than the reverse. I tested them with volt meter, and switched them around so I could get my forward to work better than the reverse. Ordered new ones, only place was straight from...

    Help, blowing morbark fuse...

It happened once, with the correct fuse, and again later with a slightly larger fuse, which I used to get by. As far as hot, not at all, it's was about 18 degrees Farenheight, (yes, 18). Motor temp was good. Going to take apart the selenoid tomorrow with correct fuses, and see how it goes.

    Help, blowing morbark fuse...

Ok, thanks guys. I think I've narrowed it down to the autofeed/reverse selenoids heating up. But the fuses I have on those wires are a bit larger, hence blowing my other fuses. It's only when I power up to full throttle, engaging the autofeed, then it trips. Thanks for the help, definately...

    Help, blowing morbark fuse...

Hey guys, my programmable tachometer on my Tornado 13 went blank yesterday, checked the manual, says check fuse, and a couple of wires. Find out it's the fuse...change it, blows not long after. It's the 7.5 amp one from the tachometer. Put a 10 amp on it and that lasted a bit longer. I am...

does anyone know where or how to grind carbide teeth

i too grind down the steel on the back of the tooth, then hit the carbide with the greenwheel. And yes, a mask is a plus, that dust won't help you, thats for sure. I have sharpened hundreds and just about to replace my green wheel for the first time. That, or bring them to a machine shop, but...

    sample contracts?

Hey guys, been getting into some jobs in which the police have had to come due to fueding neighbors. I am just doing my job, and don't want to get into the middle of anything. Anyway, really would and should put together some type of formal contract of what I will and won't do, and have them...

    Topping for removal

What gets me too is that there isn't a whole lot of meat to be stickin' my spikes into. Plus they are tree spikes, not pole. Been told to go with pole spikes, not so long. Makes you want to just sway left or right, but I've learn to use my DRT and cinch it around the tree. I am learning...
