If it has a 45mm cyl and a dished piston swapping for a flat top piston will wake it up quite a bit. Also easy to remove the transfer covers an make it breathe a bit better.

Thanks for the replies. I'll clean and inspect before getting in too deep. Wish I had a known good carb to swap onto the saw, never had the greatest luck cleaning saw carbs.

Haven't been messing around with saws lately but I made an offer on this "old chainsaw" brought it home and gave it a bath. Starts easy runs fine and has 150 lbs compression cold.

I never use these saws and plan to put on local c-list. The 026 is not a PRO has base gasket delete, all original OEM but had to shave about .005" off the outer crown of the piston----comp. is around 205psi. Bar on 026 is 16" 3/8" pitch. The 036 PRO has a new Meteor piston with base gasket...

Just bought this saw and have absolutely no need for it. I barely cleaned it up, runs fine piston is clean. Two nearly new Stihl chains one full and one semi-chisel. Saw starts and runs fine and bar is 20".

Good seller, buy with confidence.

Give it up. He hasn't logged in since Sept. 1st. All he did for me was lighten my wallet, lucky for me it wasn't a lot of $$$$$.

Yes, I believe "Elvis has left the building". I'd be surprised to see him return. I'm just glad it wasn't serious money. It appears I'm alone in the fail to deliver, which is a good thing.
