I've decided to sell my newly acquired and top-end rebuilt 395. When I bought it, it had a bad air leak. Turned out to be a split in the intake boot. It has a new oem piston (still have the old one), new intake boot, new air filter cover ,new decomp button and comes with the original oem flippy...

No worries dude. I'm selling off some good parts n such to fund other builds :) ... just yest I was able to snag an nos 372oe piston

That means the mating surface where the cylinder sits on the case was machined down thousands of an inch. This moves the cylinder down, lowers the squish and results in an increase in compression. That's the best I can explain, I'm sure there's a more technical answer.

Plug could've been changed out and kept running it, couldn't have gone that many rev's with no spark

Maybe it ate a spark plug anode/ground.
