I've decided to sell my newly acquired and top-end rebuilt 395. When I bought it, it had a bad air leak. Turned out to be a split in the intake boot. It has a new oem piston (still have the old one), new intake boot, new air filter cover ,new decomp button and comes with the original oem flippy caps. Mahle cylinder.

Compression was 160 before teardown. Rebuild comp is hard to get a top number, My elbow and starter assembly does not like it. Squish band was .040 something before base gasket delete, now it's .028'ish iirc. Compression is now around 187 psi.

It has three flaws; 1) the serial tag is scratched up but readable, stickers under starter and on bottom are still there. 2) the top cover corner is melted a little and 3) the two top cover screw holes had to be helicoiled and hold solid. I didn't catch the serial tag until after I got it home, I was more concerned with the air leak during inspection.

Selling to fund a more powerful weed eater, getting older here and my old veteran back isn't too fond of the weight and don't cut huge trees. It was a winter project for me and It's as close to new as you can get without buying new.
