Bar replacement time?

I have bent 1 bar tip. And as luck would have it for me, the bar tip was not replaceable. Now I make sure the bar has a replaceable tip, definitely not a hard nose bar, but a bar with a tip sprocket that CAN be R&R'd.

My 2001. Dolmar PS-6400 is in use since 2006. and I am still running the factory original bar.
I deepend the groove twice at the bars tail end, I dress the rails whenever they need dressing.
The bar is originally .058" gauge, it will fit a .063" chain but runs a .058" perfectly fine.

Age is not equal to wear!
Wear increases with inadequate useage and maintenance.

If You are simply twitching to use Your new bar just do it, but it will not be new after You use it for the first time.
