My brother is going to be selling some of his less used saws. He's starting with this good running Stihl 038 Mag 2. Really doesn't appear to have many hours on it. Unmolested cylinder but only has 130 psi on our gauge cold. The plastic is in good shape, only issue is that the choke master control lever has a broken piece that makes it seem loose... It doesn't hold full choke either. All related to that plastic master control arm/lever. The pics speak for themselves, if you have any questions, just ask.
Only reason I am listing for him is because I am a little better with technology.
Asking $400 plus shipping. Saw needs a new home. Thanks!

I'm so jealous of that top cover... I want it bad... Mine is a true mag 2 by most people's accounts except for that cover....

I'd love it but I looking to sell my 056 mag 2 and I'm trying to locate an 066, 084 k may be wishful thinking but I'm gonna post it soon.

PM replied to. Deezelman (my brother) should send you a PM here pretty quick, too.
Thanks for the interest!

Not too long ago, I was able to pick up a very nice example of one of these saws from Wayne and for anyone who has not run one, I have to say that for a stock saw, they are pretty damn impressive. All I did to mine was hog out the inner cage baffle a bit and widen the factory gill slit on the side of the canister (they have dual port mufflers stock) and re-tune. It doesn't rev/ spin-up as fast or high as a ported saw, but has all of the torque of one. With a 25" or 28" bar, you can lean on them for all you are worth all day and not stop the chain or bog the saw. They have a nice balance too- very underated saws IMO. Someone will be very surprised how good they are- just like I was. GLWS

I'd have to agree with the above.

My friend has an 038M and we cut together frequently. Against my 066 with the same 28" RS B&C, there's little difference in our speed. Even though it's 20cc and 2 lbs. less. It's a torquey saw. But my 066 is now getting extra bananas, so I think he's met his match.

By Carlisle PA. Doubt I'll make the get together. Have a lot of trees that need to come down for the house. I'll be busy.
