Grinder wheel size vs file size

Why is it recommended you use a 1/8" grinder wheel and 3/16" file for a .325 chain?

Why shouldn't they be they same size? ie: 3/16" file and 3/16" wheel?

Depends on which .325 chain you have. Some have a smaller cutter and uses a smaller then 3/16" file.

In a nutshell, if you use a 3/16" file on your chain then you need the 3/16" wheel.
