Now this is not the typical help thread you would here about from these saws. All i need to do is clarify what Ignition setup goes with what flywheel.

I am building Nate Stueve an 056 MAG 2 and I have points from a TS 360 cut off saw in it. I need to know what flywheel I need to make spark... I was told a while back that the brass screwed, 4 magnet SEM flywheels would give me spark.. It doesnt and it barely clears the coil on the inner face of the FW magnets.

Now i do have the bosch part number for the points FW, but I need the STIHL part number and if anyone has the flywheel, i need that too! its the only part im waiting on...

BOSCH PN 0 204 003 028

Thanks for any help!! :)

Always thought the early stuff was all bosch. Will points even mount to the case? You can also get an electronic module from a TS360 then you need the later SEM flywheel and you're good to go. What's wrong with the old ignition? There's a recent thread about repairing the notorious bosch ignitions...

the early 045's came with points, we agreed on putting points in it and thats what im trying to accomplish.

the points mount up and all, i just need the correct flywheel to fit them.

The Bosch flywheel for points is 0 204 003 028 and is Stihl part number 1115 400 1200. Bryce has several of those in his ebay store.

The Bosch flywheel for electronic ignition is 0 204 098 002 and is Stihl part number 1115 400 1206. There's also a 1207 but I'm not sure on that application.

The 1208 flywheel is for the SEM ignition.

THANK YOU JACOB!

now one more picky question.. do both SEM units (GE and GA?) use the same 1208 FW??

JJ,
That #1115-400-1207 is the early SEM FW for the early #1115-400-0808 SEM GE module. That's the SEM that has the separable #1115-404-3210 coil with no charging wings. The GE wasn't used very long, and it's also shared with the 041 Supers I've seen.

axlr8,
I told you that the SEM "brass screwed" FW only works with the early GE module. It will not work with any of the other ignitions. :dizzy:

GOD DANGIT. and im not even old enough to claim that i "forget things"... Its my fault..

I will order a 1200 FW and report back! in the mean time, I can test the few SEM units that I DO have.. and now have FW PN help too..

Thank you guys for helping my problem..

So heres what I gather:

Points ignitions use 1115 400 1200 FW

Bosch Electric Ignitions Use 1115 400 1206 FW

SEM GE uses 1115 400 1207 FW (this FW is the same on some Husky 2100 CD models if Im not mistaken.. Correct Hotshot??)

SEM GA (newest coil) uses 1115 400 1208??

Yes, the Husky 2101 FW is the identical SEM style inside, but hub bore, keyway, fins & pawls are quite different.
