I milled a birch with burl last night. The burl is solid but I do have some rot that I want to preserve the rot...my question is the wood is very wet do I dry first before using wood hardener or treat it now...I'm assuming dry it first and tried searching on here and google but have not found the answer..Thank you for any advise..

I would dry it first, wet wood will of course keep rotting away. Also attracts more bugs than dry.
Thank you. Thant’s what common sense told me but I have never milled or worked with wood much in my life. I’m a mechanic and fabricator.
