STihl 026 pro value

I have seen a few post already, but they are a couple years old, I can have a 026 pro for 110$ CAD. I have heard a lot of good things about them. The guy say she needs a carb kit and cleaning but compression good. she comes with a bar but no chain. I have to drive 1h15 total to buy her. Is it worth it ?

That "needs cheap carb rebuild kit" means just that and not "needs a new carburetor, which retails for about US $70".
Or that there aren't any more surprises.

These 024/026 series saws are excellent saws, still very popular around here for a reason, but most have been seriously abused and/or rebuilt more than once, not always by a Stihl dealer with genuine parts.

I asked the seller, all stock pieces on this saw. About 10 cords per year for maybe 7-10 years..

Well I didnt thought it was a pro too, but I asked her if this is a pro (and I specified that this is written on top of the saw) and she said yes so..im gonna see that tomorrow

PRO is a separate decal and the engine shroud does not have a decomp hole, its a regular 026.

The decomp hole is not the black thing that we can see on top of the saw ? I will ask her again why she said this is a pro. Thanks

Nope, that's a "shrouded nut" that holds the cylinder cover down.

Where this decomp hole should be? And is 110$ still worth the price or I should offer less than that?

as I said if it is in the shape claimed it is well worth it there is no difference in the pro other than a decompression valve and adjustable oiler

Well finally she told me this is a 034, she had two to sell and she mixed the two. Is a 034 worth 110$ ? Carb kit needed and all stock pieces on this saw. Thanks again

I was gonna say... that looks like an 034 and the top cover also says 034.
Buy it without question for that price. They still sell for around 350 bucks in good running condition.

I would buy either one for $110! Its much better that it's an 034! Both are Pro saws and will last a long time if taken care of! Great deal you got there!
