Stihl 056 Crank bearings and seals...

After chassing my tail on this 056 for ever now! I finally got a mityvac and found I have a bad bearing and thus a bad bearing seal. Does anyone know where to get these for a decent price. I probably need 2 sets of bearings and 2 sets of seals... I don't mind going OEM if I have to. Does stihl still make these parts?

Also I'll be looking for a how to on the bearings if someone knows a good thread they have book marked it would be much appreciated if you'd share... :msp_biggrin:

i've been doing some digging to find out if standard AM bearings will work and found a comment that 6004 C3 metric bearing work on the "mag side" but the drive side isn't standard... So can anyone confirm that this bearing is what I need for the flywheel "mag" side????

I'll keep looking for the drive side/clutch side...

Are there aftermarket seals that will work on this saw on either side I wonder??? Anyone can chime in but I'll keep researching too..

there is one side! this is the one that seals the bearing. Clutch side? Well thats the ONLY seal/bearing that i could find. I bought 2. They look of good quality! There found here New STIHL Oil Seal Part# 9640 003 2690 free shipping!!!! | eBay

Im still searching for 3 sets of bearings, and 3 sets of seals. It may take a while.

Left side oil sealing ring is standard metric B20x30x5, right side oil seal is integral with the nonstandard bearing pn 9523 003 0440.
Edit: Late models after X 10 963 560 (26.82) used bearing pn 9523 003 4460 and oil seal pn 9640 003 2690 on right side. These are also nonstandard and discontinued by Stihl as far as I know.

So what I've read and put together:
Flywheel side oil seal:
9633 003 2210 also standard metric B20x30x5
Flywheel Side Bearing:
6004 C3 metric bearing

Clutch side Bearing and seal was one part origionally:
9523 003 0440 - for 056/056super mostly need to check your serial number to be sure

Stihl later changed to a different bearing after models X 10 963 560 (26.82). MagI and MagII and some cross over model 056/056supers had this 2 piece bearing and seal.
Bearing: 9523 003 4460
Seal: 9640 003 2690

Since the clutch side bearings are non-standard they are harder to find since they are NLA.
