Kinda looks like Pig Nut Hickory to me. With the nut segmented in 4 pieces. Could be something else in the Jugland family, but they are native to VA.

Do you have a picture of the bark of the trunk? That can nail it down 100 percent.

One of the hickories, definitely. At first I was gonna say pecan but the nut doesn't look right.
