In my fleet “the loaner” is expatriated HD 6401. Comes complete with mix, bar oil and plenty of safety chains. Keeps the peace in the family and if it died tomorrow owes me nothing and gives me something to make a 7900 out of.

fixed for ya.

Tommy, asit looks in the background of your pictures, you need a few more little orange Stihl screwdrivers hanging on your strip. If your running low I am sure I could send you a few.

You should see the box I got in the office of those things. The guys from Stihl Inc. dropped by a month or ago and while here one said to the other, look at all those screwdrivers. I gotem laying all over the place. I said shoot guys thats nothing, I pulled the box out the office and gave them boys a peek. There must be a couple hundred in it. I toldem I only give the screwdriver if the customer asks for it. I got tired of people going home tinkering with the carb setting using that little screwdriver then coming back hollering it don't run right. More than one way to skin a cat,

after thinkn about it, hell no no matter the saw, they rent them at the rental stores

me i have a no loan policie

me you ask for a saw and you will have me as the operator only. even i hate to loan out my trashed polock saw. i just do not want some one hurt using my sawz. it boils down to most bafoons who "Borrow" are cheap azzz people. also if they "Borrow" the that means they may not have the brains to operate the equipment safely, and they may not own PPE. now i might loan a saw to some of you boyz here do to ya knowing how to treat a saw.

Man it’s like you are reading my mind!! I just can’t seem to kill the 6401. I have tried everything from cutting asphalt roofs, roots, telephone poles and railroad ties and the thing is just too stupid to die. Great saw! Built like the proverbial brick $hit house.

Tommy,

I'll gladly loan my saw. In fact, I tried to get FastCast to run my little 361 so he could compare how they run vs. how it looks when someone else runs them.

Now the rules:

You break it, you fix it.

You fix it, it's at Tommie's.

I then explain the Brylcream, the Elvis and the Folgers.

Funny. I turn around and they're gone. Guess they remembered something else that needed their attention during the Leesburg Lecture.

Ha! I have an echo 550evl as my loaner saw. I pull it out, fire it up in 3 pulls right in front of the borrower, give them a small can of mix and send them on their way. Happy cutting....er...well...actually as soon as it warms up it will cut out and not restart. Then they have to bring it back, head hung low and explain how they messed up my saw. I am very understanding of course :)

But they never come back to borrow a saw again! One day I'll put that good coil in that saw.....one day. :D

 I tried to rep ya for that one.

That's perfect!

I loaned my saw out once, and I'll never do it again. It came back and the bar and chain were completely trashed. I asked my buddy what the heck he did to it and if he used bar oil. The response: "Oh, I cut up my deck because I'm putting a patio in. What's bar oil?"

Never again....

I handed my saw to my cutting buddy, while I was watching him (and cutting a bit myself)

5 minutes later I get... this saw sure is cutting funny...

... The damn teeth were beat back into rounded blobs of steel.

... UGH, ok. No more saws for you today. :censored:
