I quit counting how many times I have wacked the back window in my truck. One of these days I am either going to make a rack or replace the window. I am still amazed at how strong that glass is. I have tossed chunks from 25 feet away with a direct hit with no damage. It only the body panels were this tough.:bang:

Dump inserts have headache racks built into them! Think of the savings on broken windows and lower back pain! lol!

You raise an excellent point...

:biggrinbounce2:

On a similar topic, I keep thinking at some point about going to a heavy duty steel flatbed with pockets for sides. But I'm hesitant for two reasons: 1) Extra weight considering this is my dd, and 2) I like the stock fat butt truck look. A flat bed would be really useful though, and I could beat on it like a blind orphan... :taped:

last winter i put my sled through the back window only thing left was the slider. ski's got both sides. not nearly as spensive as your window nuzz

I'm half tempted to just get a one piece window. Would be more cost effect, safer considering how easy it is to break through a slider, and couldn't use a slider anyways with a rack. All things to ponder in the coming days. Hmmm....

I sold my truck this past spring and started using a trailer and that was the one thing I thought of was I do not have to worry about throwing stuff at a trailer.

Here are some options on sliders...

Sorry links don't come up...The where several yards in your area that had sliders for $80-$100 and fixed glass for $40 or less...Just go to car-part and search for back glass for your truck...

Beautiful! Thank you for the heads-up on that site! It located a good number of options within easy driving range. Big rep coming your way

I actually thought about that today since my trailer was sitting at home.

But in reality, using the truck bed is far too convenient to give up. With the truck I can get places I can't get to with the trailer, either because it's too tight or ground too unstable. But I tell ya what, you ain't lying about the piece of mind throwing stuff into a trailer. Unloading is easier too

Same thing happened to me just before the snow hit us. The old lady was helping me and she knocked it out. She was so bummed out. I got a used one for $20.00 and had it in before she had the truck vacumned out. That's the second one for me and I've been loading wood in my trucks for 30 years. It's only a matter of time.

Now That Sucks............................................................

I was going to say "Dude that sucks"!
Someone beat me to it. I need to be careful Nuzzy, I have already taken out my back-up lights I put under the bumper by rolling oak rounds down the hill to the truck. But, that doesn't even come close to your fopah...:bang:

Can't tell for sure, looks like you got a Dodge? Might have to work up some Ford and Dodge logos as well and start selling em! More details and pics in the Tomorrows Project post on the heavy equipment section.
