This looks impressive. Too bad they do not have one for chainsaw oil mix.

I did try some amsoil synthetic in my Jetta TDI. When I started the engine I did notice after a few mins. the engine noise did decrease. I also got some Saber packs to try in my saw. The dealer gave me a 25 or 30% discount for my order which made the price slightly better than I can buy the other oil. I thought it was a win win either way. I am not brave enough to run 100:1 but will go 75:1 just to be safe.

I just wondered what everyone thought about the impressive information in this link?

Just Wandering?

I know it's probably out there somewhere, but there is a lot of posts to search through to find the answer, so I'll just ask:

What ratio of Amsoil Saber should be run in chain saws? Specifically, 50ish cc's if that matters?

I'm not looking for the extreme high or low ratios that you guys like to play around with just for fun, but the norm.

Thanks for the help

HEY MOWOODCHOPPER - I love your "THERE WERE 1.5 MILLION PEOPLE AT THE INAUGURATION! ONLY 14 MISSED WORK!!!", whatever that thing is called. I don't know why I have not seen that before, but I just laughed my butt off for about 5 minutes when I saw that!

Gary loves oil threads and oil questions, he is a two stroke oil expert but he never posts about oil anymore. He requested that anyone with questions should PM him with all the details about what saw you run and he'll give you a detailed analysis of which oil to use for what conditions.

sorry I forgot. Gary's username is GASoline71. Anyone interested should PM him with details like what saw, how old it is, compression, b&c size, type of chain, how often you cut and what size wood. Then Gary can give you a recommendation on the best oil and mix ratio to maximize perormance and longevity in your saw. I've been cutting for 13 years now with my 361 and its making almost .5hp more than stock by using the perfect oil blend and mix ratio that Gary told me about.

Try 50/1 for starters.

Is it just me or that Amsoil seems like a cult like Scientology?
"Zarltar " the magnificent says Amsoil lasts 50,000 miles... repeat after me....etc...
"In tests 3 out of 4 chefs preferred the taste of Amsoil over Wesson baked goods......
UOA shows that Amsoil not only protects better but is shown to help skin complextion, reduce dental tartar stains and makes cleaning your septic system a breeze....
Dammit Billy Mays could use this stuff if he didnt take a dirt nap

Always a bit suspicious when something wins in ALL categories. Most products, particularly oils are so advanced that it is not possible to be best in every aspect.

Like in a tyre test. No one tyre's going to win wet/dry cornering, braking etc.

isn't compairing a full synthetic motor oil to a conventional based motor oil a little like racing a corvette and a geo metro? First one to 150 wins!!! :jawdrop:

It's about time somebody said it. Amsoil = Amway?

I totally understand you guys that can't stand Amsoils marketing style. I hate it too. But if you call it anything other than one of the best oils out there, then you simply don't know what you're talking about. Most "synthetic" oils out there are not true synthetics. Amsoil is true synthetic. That's also why it costs what it does. I'm not even saying that you need Amsoil. But it is one the best oils you can buy, better than most.

Agreed, most "synthetics" are just highly refined grade III or IV oil stocks, not a true ester. I just wish I could buy it off the shelf -finding a dealer and paying shipping is a PITA for an already pricey product.

Pretty sure its not. After Mobil lost their lawsuit to Castrol over them calling their oil "synthetic" its rumored they decided if you cant beat 'em join em and changed their formula.
I use Maxima oil in my motorcycles its a true ester synthetic. Its pricey($10 a quart) but I dont use much per year compared to the cars so its worth it, and motorcycles are much harder on their oil than most cars. I have used Maxima 927 Castor oil synthetic blend 2 stroke oil in my 2 strokes and saws, so far so good. I still use Mobil one in my cars, and Rotella in the diesel.

I don't even think Mobil 1 is a true synthetic any more.

I read that somewhere too. Makes me feel better when I see it in your Walmart stores for about $25 a gallon.

Just paid £70 (about $112) for 10L (2.6 USG) of Mobil 0W-40 in the UK. In our market it is still a true synthetic.
