when i first joined this site there were lots of people talking about the husky 455 ranchers and smaller saws and stihls in the same class

now it seems the saws being talked about most lately are 70-90cc pro saws. and lots of muffler modding and porting going on

just curious if everyones noticed this.

Well i have only been here on AS 2+ years but when i started messing with saws it was the 290's and so forth.......upon finding this site my 290 and ms 170 were sold and 361's, 440's and eventually 660 replaced those saws. So this site did to me......but i like it!!

Pulling the trigger on a wild thing doesn't do anything for me but pulling the trigger on my 650 puts a tingle in my pants

I like to take 1 hour with the big saws, over 2+ hours with the little ones!

PS did I mention my back hurts!!!!!!!!!!!

bigger badder faster stronger the American way.

Ah, horsepucky. I've been around a few years and the primary topic of debate has always been 60-90cc pro saws, with the big bad boys (088s/3120s/090s/075s) streaming in and out in waves, especially with the increasing population of chainsaw millers on the site. Actually, most of the debate hovered around 70-90cc saws until the 361 started to cure cancer and stuff, and the 5100 burst on the scene. Then Husky redid the 346 and turned a dog into a diamond. Otherwise, over the past 5 or 6 years I've been on, most of the bandwidth has been 440/441/460/372/7900/066/395s, and various things to get a bit more out of them.

The pro saws are getting smaller. I think maybe you joined at one of those odd moments when the place gets over run with Lowes shoppers. They tend to fade away and those that do not disappear buy bigger saws.

Husky 359? Is it a good saw? What about the Dolmars? Has anyone used a 361?............ The first round of 361 discussions were hilarious. This place is very similar to the really fun saw shops.

Just a small observation.....

1. Is there any relavance between the buying habits of people on this site and what's occuring out in the general market place?

2. If there is a connection, then why isn't there any market segregation occuring in the 95 -115cc area. For example, Husky goes from 94cc to 119cc, a 25cc gap. I would have thought that they would have plugged that gap, If there was market demand?? Maybe our manufacturers are telling us to buy what they make or buy nothing.

Makes me wonder how many would buy a Husky if they made one between 100 - 110cc?

I own 19 saws and the smallest is a ms 026 and 16 are 72 cc and up. I hate small saws!

my smallest is 26 cc's Homelite XL, my largest is 70 cc's MS 441. the only time I break out the Poulans is when I am cutting in the dirt. 441 is my 'go to' saw. gets everything cept when I need a slower cut then I use the little red saw. Bigger is better, badder, and faster at my house.
