i'm lookin for a better way to transport my saws to and from cutting. and without a toolbox. i am thinking maybe a scabbard of some sort behind the cab. one on each side that the bar could slide down in and bungee it down. i don't like them in the floorboard and i don't like them stacked in with the wood either. anybody got ideas or pics?

won't fit behind seat in my chevy. and my little boy rides up front and usually my cousin so no floorboard. a cable lock is a good idea.

This is how I do it.

Dude, are you going out cutting, or going to a show? That is one beautiful setup! I usually just stick a couple of saw in the bedbox, or lift the back seat in the truck, or maybe stick one extra on the passenger side front floorboard.

We run a set up like stinkbait. Have different trucks for haulin the wood, and trailers.

How big of a bed do you have Matt? Thinking of ideas to maximize the space to haul wood.

What about a\ / shaped at the front. That would work alright for 2 saws. Just put the saws in last if you are throwin the wood in.

I use a 2x6 across the bed using the factory pockets (2005 Silverado) to keep my saws gas, generator, gatorade, etc from sliding around in transit.

Before I built my log racks I would stack 2 rows behind this board. Now I can carry 2 racks (1 face) full in the truck and 2 on the trailer with the tractor and forks.

Crew cab, the saws need to be warm and dry.:greenchainsaw:

I just tie them on top of the load of wood. For the ride out in the morning they ride in the bed on with a bungee to keep them from sliding around. Same for the gas cans.

For my 4wheeler and tractor, I cut a small cedar(8" or so) in half lenghtwise. Then did a plunge cut to stick the bar into. I mounted the "cant" with screws to the back cage of the wheeler & a foot rail on the tractor. I left the bark on, but you could peel & polyurethane it. They were free and look cool.

What are those "RED THINGS" doing back there?

That Homelite is a Super XL925, and is a HOSS, and the other is a beaut of a gear drive, I am thinking Sears UG4, but Stinky could tell you more about them. Id be proud to let them ride in my truck any day.

The other red one is my mono 48 that my FFIL and I fully restored. Their is thread on here somewhere showing the whole restoration. I think that it turned out great. If I ever get time I am going to do another one.
