Not working - muffler screw holes stripped. Good for parts or a good machinist may be able to fix it. I don't need it any longer.

Dammit. $10.00 for an 038Mag? I'd gladly give some Spokane AS fellow that's going to the 2011 PNW GTG a case of their choice of  plus the $10 to pick that up and bring it to the GTG...:givebeer:

Craigslist Laughs/Stihl made of Gold......

Why is it that everyone on craigslist is asking some rediculous price for their used chainsaws?? Running or not? Check the following ad... ive seen it locally up for about a month... it is a used 021 with a blown motor. Ad says $100. :monkey:

I shoot him an email offering $50 bucks for it. He tells me to get lost. HA!

Also there wasanother guy about an hour from me that wants "$350 firm" for his 026 with "about 12 hours of use". So sent an email asking if it was at least a 026Pro, and he says no. He got no email back.

This one just about takes the cake:

Regular 026. "Run daily for extreme tree work" $300. What a tool.

Not everyone of them want a lot of money, you just have to watch, like these..

The smaller one for $30 and the larger for $40, big one is a MS290 and the small one....191T

some just need a little cleaning, maybe more than others. :censored:, I got an 044 with a 28" bar and has 165lbs compression for 300, just needed cleaning and the chain sharpened...he never, ever sharpened it and figured since it quit cutting, was time for a new one.

Your right...they are crazy and so am I....for chain saws!!!

I'd pick it up for $15 if I was local...

looks like an XL-12 from the picture, and could be an older one at that, all black letters, but the pic is not good. But for $15

That looks like an XL400. Shares many, but not all parts with the XL12/SXL-AO saws. Little more displacement (4.0ci/65cc) and power than a SXL-AO (probably to compete with the 10-10 Macs). Weren't in production very long for some reason. Has the 'shaver' style air intake on the flywheel side. My long time Homelite nut friend believes the 'shaver' grills cut down on cooling airflow. He may have something there. He only has one of them (unlike the dozens of each other old Homelite model he has), and the P/C on that saw is smoked. Looks pretty on the outside though...

Acre's site has info about the XL400 saws...
