a groundman sprains his ankle on a pine cone running from attacking bees causing him to get pulled through the chipper :dizzy:

In all seriousness, I worry all day. My guys are great but I want them to be safe. If you had to make (X )amout of $ a day, this is an important topic.

The answer is-
There is no such thing as an accident.
If you realize this, then there are no excuses.
Each one of the senarios should of been a safety meeting with a sign in sheet. No-one should work alone, and accidents are a failure to applying safe work practices.
Sorry I got serious, Guys.
Jeff :)

Well heres the truth each scenario no matter how careless the employee was is still either a valid comp case or a accidental death case and the company cannot fight and win any of them even the pine cone ....So the insurance companies gladly take your money knowing that there ALWAYS comes a day when there paying it out ..

Well thats where we differ I don't worry about someone breaking an ankle on a pine cone or nest of bees , thats what I call hard lesson and if it goes that far than I have insurance for that , as for the man falling into the Burrito maker that would be messy and in this heat stinky real fast .....

Depends on your insurance. You could be paying for a long time through increased premiums.
