It's that time of year again

So what are the prices for a cord (128 cu ft) of real seasoned cut, split. and delivered in your area?

Around NE CT there are several hacks selling green as seasoned for $150 - $165 a short cord. The guys that I know that are in it for the long haul are in the $185 to $200 range.

There's not a lot of logging going on now so I have a feeling prices are going to head up $15 or $20 a cord in a few months as the supply of tops and cull logs dry up.

I'm giving my repeat customers the same price as last year at $200, and what's left over I'm covering and sitting on 'til the new year when true seasoned and dry gets scarce.

My 2 cents

Take Care

wood prices ?

for the start of the 2010/11 season its already all over the board... some selling full cords for as little as 125.00 a cd seasoned? more to the positive side its going for 165.00 to 195.00 dry & seasond.. as for myself im starting out with a mixed cord load of seasoned and dry oak an maple for 185.00..... closer to mid oct. its going up to a normal of 200.00 and any full cds of a single species will be 225.00 to 250.00 all delivered within 20 miles. birch will also be kept to last years price at 225.00 a cd. mixed woods or a forest run of our 5 wood types green and dead standing is a year around price of 185.00 per cord or 160 cf delivered.......... which is my biggest seller.

In Wisconsin, it's 160-200 a cord delivered and stacked. A truckload of oak in 8
' lengths is 100 a cord delivered (green or partly seasoned from oak wilt.) I don't think it went up here at all.

Here in the NW of CT I'm seeing some of the every year guys posting up at $239 a cord. Also some ads I don't recogonize as low as $185.

Glad I have have what I need to take me through the next two winters!... I'll keep looking for free wood though for the future.

Still sitting on $100 a pickup truckload, which is about $170 cord for split seasoned firewood, delivered. Knock off $10 a truckload if the customer comes and gets it. All is mixed hardwoods.

No price increase at all from last year. Natural gas prices have stabilized.

Far northern Wi., mostly Maple ,with some Ash, Cherry, Beech mixed in is $55-$60 a "face cord", cut 16".That's the favorite way to sell it here. Make a deal on delivery, price cuts for multiple cords. I'm selling three face cords delivered for $165 if it's close, that's two trips for me.

Eastern canada....8 ft lengths are $90 cord delivered if you buy a trailer load, 19 cord. Mostly maple.

Blocked and split is around $200 dumped in your yard, all hardwood. Mixed is about $160-175.

Cut and split mixed hardwood.

1/4 cord - 135
1/2 cord - 210
1 cord - 375
1.5 cord - 525

Price includes delivery and tax. Lots of guys selling cheaper online. Many people are willing to pay premium for well seasoned clean wood.

In western MA, north western CT, we get for mixed hardwoods:
•$200 per Full seasoned cord delivered
•$120 per 1/2 cord seasoned delivered or picked up, return customers $100 if picked up
•$60 per 1/4 cord seasoned delivered or picked up, return customers $50 if picked up
•I have a crate that is about an 1/8 of a cord tossed seasoned $35 pickup only(if stacked right it fits in a vw bug. Srry no pics of that)
•bundles that contain 8-10 pecies split small seasoned $5
Our prices are average for our area. We have some fly by night oporations selling short green cords for $150. Or the people somehow getting $250+ for a cord.
We can deliver up to 3 cords at a time.

Cut split delivered green here(Central Maine) is $165. on average, seasoned is $190.-$210. and dry is $210. on up. Much lower than last year, not sure exactly why though.

A quick scan of Minneapolis Craigslist shows mixed hardwood at +-150, oak at 200 or so per full cord.

If you want good seasoned stuff in Feb/Mar, add 50% to those prices. I may be selling a bit then...

I'm selling full cords for $170. It's all pine, most of it Ponderosa.

I sell a pickup truck load for $150.

When winter approaches I'll go up to $200 for a cord and $170 for the pickup truck.

No guaranty that any of it will be seasoned, though 90% of it is.

It's all quality wood though, nothing punky.

I'm $300-$330 a cord for homeowner wood. I'm higher for cook wood. I'm hoping kiln dried will be in the $450-$500 range. We'll see I have to get the kiln running I have been busy with other jobs. I'm going to work on it a little more tomorrow.

$100-200/cord

so far i've sold one at $140, buyer picked it up. and selling a cord and a half at the end of sept. for $275 delivered and stacked.

the $100/cord guys sell alot of green stuff though. and they don't split either. they limit their wood to 3-4'' diam.
