Nice truck, here is my 96 with the powerstroke. Mine has a bit more mileage at 297k and has had extensive body work done by the previous owner (not too good of a job either:dizzy:) but it looks good from 30 feet. haha

Nice looking truck! Around MN that thing would be a rust bucket!

Did you have to lock it in 4H to get that log moving? At first I was wondering what the problem was.......that was until I saw the the rest of that "twig"! :chainsaw:

Put it in 4L to get that twig moving, being careful not to snap something underneath.

like it, very nice!!!

That is a really nice looker. Just what I'm looking for. The kid across the street has one and it seems indestructible. Congratulations! Great video too. Just like being at one of those autocross races when the cameraman gets nailed.

Rudedog, I was looking for one for a long time, and finally found the right one...take your time and find a low mile one, and little rust if possible...good luck.

I'm no Ford fan, but that is a good looking truck and back when they still built them too. I have many miles in trucks just like that, but red and white. Those things would pull and get 17 miles a gallon doing it! (23 empty)

Rep for ya!

Never been a ford fan either, but wanted a truck with crewcab, 4x4, diesel and 1 ton, oh and 97' or older because you have to "SMOG" 98' and up here in Ca.
Yep, 97' and down is smog exempt here for diesel's.

After a bit of time with that truck, you'll probably become a Ford fan :D

I am a Ford fan, but have a Dodge and a Toyota :pumpkin2:

Nice Truck you got there. Very hard to find one that nice in these parts unless its an import from downsouth!

Go get yourself a DP-Tuner for that truck and you will be thanking me later!

You don't realize what a dog it is until you actually get some power, don't get me wrong it will pull itself just fine now but they leave alot to be desired in the stock form.

I have an 03 f-350 with a a 6.0 lit. diesel and a banks kit and the power is unbelievable. Now I ain't saying it will outrun every car out there but I have definately surprised quite a few kids in their sportscars when they couldn't get ahead of me accelerating.

nice truck the 7.3 liter in my opinion would have to be the best engine ford has put in thier trucks. I wish they still used it. this 6.0 and 6.4 stuff they have out now is crap compared to the 7.3.

ya and like everyone else said good find thier usually a big pile of rust in PA from the winters.

I second the 7.3 comment above, and raise it to the best diesel motor ever made. A few mods and you'll be hooked forever. Here are some awesome websites for all the info you'll ever need about your new truck:

http://www.riffraffdiesel.com/mm5/merchant.mvc? - Clay knows EVERYTHING about the 7.3, best prices too

cheers,
Matt

I think the best ever is a stretch. Real diesels are inline 6's. I have a powerstroke and hate it compared to a Cummins 5.9. I had to get the Ford because Dodge doesn't make a 550 I can afford. When my powerstroke dies my 550 is getting a cummins. Back to the original post. Nice truck. Like someone else said 4 wheel low is your friend when pulling stuff like that.

Not up here in my county!! woohoo!! :D

I've been looking for a 350 or 250 crew cab with the turbo 7.3 L but haven't found anything in good shape for under $10,000 in the 350. Those 95-97 F350 crew cabs really hold their value.

Great looking truck you've got there, I'm definetly a fan of Ford PSD's. I like the way you built your stake pocket racks, I'm currently doing a similar set for my Dad's F-350. What did you do to fill in the space between your vertical stakes and horizontals? It looks like round bar, but is hard to tell in the pics. I was contemplating using expanded metal/mesh, but you may have a better plan here, if possible please advise.

I've always been a Ford truck guy.. but the 5.9 Cummins is the BEST diesel motor ever put in a pick-up from the factory without question! Mt dream truck would be a Ford like yours or maybe a Super Duty as I like that style too with a 5.9 Cummins under the hood. I have a few friends that have done the swap.

If left along the 7.3L PSD is a pretty good motor too! MUCH better then the 6Leaker!
