So what's the story? Are these things junk?

RE: Lombard Saw

I think they're pretty good old saws, Mark, and that one looks to be in very good cosmetic condition. They're strong running, well built saws imo. Also quite plentiful and I don't personally think they're worth quite that much.

The Comango was 68cc, I have one that looks like this one, but in "not so nice" condition. It's a Lightning, 58cc and runs good, just like an XL-12 only orange and white. Lots of the parts interchange. That is a good looking saw, but $125.....no thanks.

I don't mean to rain on anyone's parade, but I'd be worried that that there might be some kind a scam involved here. There seller appears to have sold a lot of perfume, cologne, and designer clothing; these are items that are frequently sold as counterfeit online and aren’t related to chainsaws in any way. Why does the seller also happen to have multiple Husqvarna chainsaws for sale? I’d ask him if he’s a dealer and then call Husqvarna to verify. I was almost suckered more than once while shopping on ebay (counterfeit Joe Rocket and AlpineStar riding gear), now I rarely buy stuff from ebay at all.

I bought a new 372XP for $750 plus tax a few months ago from a reputable dealer in my town. I personally would feel better spending a little more locally and having 100% confidence that you’re not getting scammed. That’s just my $.02.

That's what I was thinking. I noticed that the photo is not of the actual saw being sold, but a "Stock photo." It makes me wonder if the actual saw is an orange Chinese knockoff.

Will be checking the buyers review on this one. That will tell the story.

JJ, I seen a running Model 7 on c-list somewhere- and they wanted 1500$ Isn't that way outta line?

Yeah $1500 is outta the ball park and the game is over.

I paid $350 for my running 6 and it came with the complete stinger end and a 6-foot bar and chain. It's in great shape.

I paid $100 for the last 7 I bought, no spark but a 60" bar (No chain or stinger though.) It turns over with compression and the transmission is very good, with a new sprocket.

Thanks JJ and Lee. I figured it was pretty crazy. I know there are a couple 2 mans worth that, but didnt figure that one was

Homelite super xl automatic - $150

I HAVE A HOMELITE SUPER XL AUTOMATIC, CHAINSAW RUNS GREAT STARTS RIGHT UP ITS AN OLDER SAW BUT RUNS GREAT I THINK IT HAS AN 18 INCH BAR FIRST $150 BUCKS CASH GETS IT !! THATS FIRM ! ITS A GREAT SAW.

NO pic, is this a fair price for this saw?

:agree2: I generally see a price of $10- to $20- bucks for old Homelites of the XL persuasion. My own fair shape Super XL came out of the trash- needs fuel line. For $150- it should be a 100 cc Homie.

After reading this thread I hope my Homelite's arrive in good condition! Should be getting then by next week. Crossing my fingers:bang:
As it would happen soon as I purchased mt XL 12 I find another one that looks and runs like brand new. :angry2:
