There is a super xp 1020, a super 1050, and a super xp 1050 listed, waiting for the guy to call me, If it is a 1020 or 1050 for $50 I will pick it up so I can join the 100cc club.

There I fixed it for you. For 50 you would be a nut not to pick it up!

So after no responses to my question 4 pages ago about a 3100g...I'm gonna try a different question.
I usually run a Stihl 048 (1980s saw...77cc's) in addition to my Homelite EZ-Auto. I love the Homelite and want to get something that looks like my EZ-AUTO's bigger cousin....who can b!t(h slap the Stihl 048. I once thought the 048 was a bad saw, but now that I'm almost 30...I WANT MORE POWER! :)

Can someone give me a list of the homelites that will do this and maybe some info about their availability. I have had no luck finding the 3100g I want. :(

The homelite 750 should do the trick, I don't think you will be disappointed with the power. If you want to look up chainsaw specs check out. Chain Saw Collectors Corner Home

I have nothing to do with this web site I just use it as a reference when I need specs.

The 925 kinda looks like a ez but its only 80 somthing cc and probably not gonna stomp that 048. I know these are pretty easy to find.

Yup the 750 would spank most saws.

This isnt my video but the saw is nice:YouTube - Homelite 750 with 50 inch bar

This looks like one of the very early XL-12's. What is the serial number? Is it 2680246? We got 47 of the very first order of XL-12's in Oct. 1963. All the serial numbers began with 150----. I am wondering if there are any with an older number. One bad feature was the wick in the gas tank that soon filled up and had to be replaced with the side of the tank that had a hole in top with a grommet for the line to go thru and a filter attached. The other problem with most of these starters that had the little round thing on the outside. The shaft on the starter would break off. They corrected that and we never had any trouble with the later models.

Here is my XL12 with the wick in the tank. A copper line is attached to a fitting screwed into the bottom side of the fuel tank - behind the crankcase cover. I almost thought it was homemade when I first saw this. I see I need to study up on picture positng.

Never have heard of Homelite Super 10. Surely was a misprint

Guy finally sent me some pics, turns out it is a super 2, very disappointed. Have another set of saws I'm looking at on friday, 3 xl-12, 1 super ez-my favorite small saw-, and a unknown red powerhead that is larger than the xl-12's for $35 not sure if any run but for that price who cares.

So what is your question about a 3100? I guess I have not seen it. You know it is easier if you just ask a direct question.

Bill

I felt bad about missing your 3100 question, so I went back to see what I missed. I love all things big and blue or big and red. If you're dying to get one, I'll let you go first, I just want one real bad. I just got a 924 and I'm real happy with it, Joe.

He did ask a direct question. We all missed it. Check it out on page 75. "How rare are the 3100Gs?", is what he wanted to know.

I'd say pretty rare. Since I got mine 3 years ago, I've seen maybe 1 or 2 more on Ebay. And mine needed some help.

Need a case for a Homelite 540

In one of my better acts of recent stupidity, I managed to allow my pristine Homelite 540 fall off the rolling storage cart I keep it on. While the saw is 20 years old, it has only had 3 tanks of fuel run through it in its lifetime. Some before and after shots.

Anyone have a source for new case halves as well as a air cleaner cover? I suspect a MP88 chop saw may use the same case.

Am I missing something? The fuel tank/handle is destroyed but you looking are for a crankcase and A/F cover. Do you not need the tank? How did the crankcase get wrecked?

Anyway, good luck.

I had a NOS 540 tank/handle here for years and ended up basically giving it away.
