I need a pull start sprocket for a poulan 3400 cv and a pull cord and sprocket for another of same model.

where can i get these? i dont do feebay

Also whats the best way to try and start it up if pull cord is hanging out a little? need to see if it runs, see where im at...

thanks

Starter pulley part number is 530028487, that number has been superseded to 530069290. You will find plenty of options if you do a google search on either number, place quote marks("") around the numbers for the best search results. Pull cords and handles can be bought from any local repair shop, most hardware stores and even Wal-Mart.

thanks! found it! under 8 bucks. ship within 48 hrs.

Since were at it what is the fuel line number and carb number? incase i need to replace them also...

and how do I put pull cord on starter pully?

First, Google is your friend. For answers you can't get locally. The internets (GWB) are an amazing communication medium. You can answer most of your questions, or get good leads on answers in minutes.

Most any chainsaw dealer can get you all the fuel line you want- just hold out for Tygon (DuPont.) If it's needed, you can get a carb kit for rebuilding the carb. Pretty radical to replace carb.

Replacing line on starter PULLEY is really easy if your handy. Note: first priority here is to NOT have recoil spring go haywire on you- eye protection required. Again DAGS for details a/r. Pull flywheel cover, untie cord inside handle (w/ vice grips on cord inside housing), release spring tension, remove pulley CAREFULLY, r&r cord on pulley, reinstall pulley, preload recoil spring, run line through bushing, reattach handle, reinstall flywheel cover.

Piece of cake, if ye're "handy"- getting there takes practice, practice, practice. ;)

Somewhere on this site there is a thread on replacing the fuel lines on this series of saw, it was started by fellow member ModifiedMark. He goes through the whole process and tells you exactly what all you will need to do the job. I currently have a 3800 sitting here waiting for it's turn on the bench. When I replaced the pulley on my 3400 the new pulley came with a installation instruction sheet, hopefulley yours will come with the same.
