STIHL 880 - $1000 (Roanoke)

STIHL 880

This is the biggest saw Stihl makes.
Bought new about 5 years ago for around $1600 - they are around $2000 now.
It only has about 4 hours of cutting on it - my loss it your gain.

This one started at $1000 obo a while ago. I sent the guy an email the other day asking for a picture or a model number, he responded "bring cash or don't email me anymore." Seems like an odd way to try and make a sale.

1962 STILLT 30IN CHAIN SAW $150.00 CASH BO

I played with him for an hour or so. Told him the saw was worth $100 maybe and that was a guess without a picture. He said it was an 009 right before he told me to go **** myself and to not text him again. Several people have tried to tell him the spelling was wrong and do a little research, put a picture on the ad, even to use spell check before he posted the ad....makes me laugh every time I see the ad, all several hundred of them!

Well maybe "playing" with him is not such a good idea. Obviously without a picture it is fishy but there is now way it is a 009 as he said it had a 30" bar. Granted he could be full of beans on the bar length but I would investigate it more. You never know he could have looked a a 090 tag and just said it was a 09.

I meant that we texted back and forth for an hour, I could not get him to give me a picture or a good description. Like Thomas1 said, the seller was odd and told me the same thing, just bring cash. Your probably right, might be something, not an 090 since they were not introduced until 1968, he claims it's built in 1962.

johnsereds BIG BOY saw, from sweeden, made to last forever on big wood.think its worth $1200. can really use $295 .28" of exposed bar on it now,can go much longer if needed, shorter to of course but who wants to bend over ?long bars keep your back from hurting.

any stihl built in 1962 with a 30" bar would be worth a look. that would be a lightning :)

NO it won't take to well to a 36" bar:(

I will trade you a Stihl 032 for it that you can handle though:D

looks like a MS460.I think I see flippy cap:msp_mellow:$700 I think I would pass

STIHL MAGNUM 046 CHAISAW

OK correction maybe tank has been replaced as it looks like the rear has been replaced....odd for a low hour saw.so it would be a 046?

I talked to this seller and he didn't even know what model "BIG BOY" saw he had. He's located down in the 'hood around 27th ave and VanBuren. Seems like he's living in a $$$ fantasy world........"can really use $295".....who of us couldn't !!???

Ding, ding, ding....we have a winner! 041 and did the top cover come with it? I told him $100 maybe, well now we know what it was, not an 090. Had my fingers crossed for you.

Top cover was not included. I told him 80 dollars just because I had driven all the way up to look. Nothing lost but a little time and fossil fuel. :)
