I have a chance to pick up a McCulloch 650 (not a promac) for $80 but it needs fuel system parts. Is it worth getting for a tinkering project? Also can I still find parts for it? Thank you

Just ask yourself, are you man enough for a real chainsaw?

Yessir. Paid around that money for mine (with a shorter bar). Rebuilt a Tillotson HL63 for it and replaced the lines. Fixed a couple other minor things and gave it a good cleaning.

Here are your pics. Get the dang thing. Parts aren't really a problem. Also, I can think of two guys in this thread that'd probably relieve you of the burden of that saw if you decide it's too old, heavy, and obsolete...:D

I can think of three.

A real 650 in good condition is indeed a real man's saw, $80 is a bargain. You may have to look around a bit for needed parts, not like there is an on line parts store with everything you might happen to need. That said, everthing you might happen to need is out there waiting to be found.
