I have ran across a McCulloch 660 few weeks back. I tinkered with to get it running. Shortly after it ran for a little will something wasn’t right. The motor was cracked, took it apart and had a messed up crank bearing and missing a needle in the push rod bearing. What motors out there will fit?

The 660 is the gear drive version of the Super 250, but any of the 87 cc saws should provide parts.

I'm told the kart guys would intentionally leave a needle (or two) out of the connecting rod to allow a little more freedom of movement but I've never experimented with it myself.

Isn’t there a 250 and a 250 super? And how would you know which is the 87cc? I found some motors on eBay but not much information out there.

A "regular" 250 would have the model number stamped on the bottom of the crankcase.

A Canadian Super 250 is still 80 cc and would have the block number stamped on the bottom of the crankcase (62481).

A Super 250 would normally have no markings on the bottom of the crankcase, but should have a model/serial number tag in the air box with the 600100 number.

The 80cc saws are 1.375" stroke and the 87 cc are 1.5" stroke, bore is 2.125" in all of them.
