What's anybody think.2 pumps inline,but only one running.Second one sitting idle just as back up no power.Would the one pump struggle pumping water thru ?
Are we talking water pumps or Hydralic pumps?

Don't run them in series. Parallel them instead.
Use check valves to keep water from back flowing through the other pump.

Assuming we are talking circulation pumps for an OWB, I think TPA has it right.

Ball valves would be cheaper.
Check valves properly installed need not be operated, they would do it automatically.
