Ah yes, the entitled few! The world owe them a living ... well, he's going to get exactly that for the next five years. :msp_biggrin:

Wood thieves are the worst! I am scared to death that someone is going to take some of mine!

Surprised your neighbor wasn't the one getting arrested, for holding they guy at gun point.

If its anything like around here it'll be a $500 fine or 20 hrs community service. You have to do alot to go to jail. Unless your a good guy, then you would be looking at life. Bad ones always get out some how.

That is what I was thinking it all depends on what cop shows up.

Not once the threat was made, as long as weren't brandishing the gun first (and you had it legally stowed in your vehicle, whatever your local laws on that are...and that might be more a depends on which cop shows up thing how technical he'll get with that).

As a general rule, you can always park your vehicle, lock any gates behind you on the way in, etc. and if that just happens to block in another vehicle on private property, that's just unfortunate. You're not trying to stop them from leaving in the vehicle, it just happens the vehicle is blocked in. You can wait for a cop to come and ask you to let them out :D

But unless you want to go into the thin ice of trying to make a bonafide "citizens arrest" just remember that the people can always just walk away. If they haven't threatened you and you don't let them leave, then you risk it being called kidnapping. Now the dirt bags are usually too dumb to realize they're free to secure their property by locking the doors and walking away...

the guy threatend him with an ax when he blocked him in

That would be a line crossed with me, thief caught in the act, threaten me with an axe, BOOM, no mo thief. I am an old peace and love hippy, but I have my limits on that stuff as regards self defense. Had to growing up, I'm a little guy and a variety of larger guys thought they could have some sport..nope, I hit hard and fast when threatened. No waiting for a second invite. My neck is just as red as anyone's when it comes to circumstances like that.

Guys like that, bad news, gonna wind up hurting an innocent person some day while committing other crimes. If he has firewood tools, nothing stopping him from making an honest buck other than being a skunk! (apologies to hard working real skunks of course)

i drink with the judge and play poker with the ada. its the guys third dwi and second drug arrest. he is gonna do time

Congrats on catching the bastard. Lets hope his new cellmate is a 400 pound guy named bubba who's lookin for some lovin.
