I'm totally suspicious ... and I have an 'untrained eye' on these ...
- Seller doesn't know what a roller nose bar is
- Front handle brace is painted (No attention to detail)
- Need to send a msg to get a link to a video? WTH is THAT?
- Does not show the underside of the saw, so the numbers cannot be seen

The REAL experts will be along ....

Not a real expert. But the DSP valve is lower than a 125. Something tells me that I have seen this saw somewhere before. Ron

Sp81e

Check post 50 in the new stickie for ads and brochures. MAC claims the SP81E is 20% more powerful due to a divided transfer port. That would suggest that the SP80 and SP81 had a different cylinder than the SP81E. Ron

I'd say it seems real suspicious. That said, someone went to a lot of trouble to shave fins on a 101 head to fit the SP shroud #1, #2, the decomp is in the wrong spot for a saw block, #3, you can just make out voids in the head fins for bolts.

I'd say it's legit :sucks:

No, I won't be bidding :D.

The seller is local to me, and is on the Swedish chainsaw forum, where he restored a 797 really nicely. I saw the video, and it seems legit to me.

It's the real deal. Decomp was moved to just
inside the head gasket. The muffler will not fit
a SP125 block. You can see where the head fins
have been shaved. And what looks like the head
bolt areas.

Yep- that muffler will not fit the SP blocks, even with modification. That's the "coffinbox" muffler for the *90/*95 series and the kart engines. It looks like the real deal to me.

Decomp is lower in this one also? AND we all know this is not a CP...

I can't tell if that's a true or not. It has the right muffler but the wrong clutch and exhaust gasket.

Sorry to change the subject (looks like a great ole saw), but did you guys see the McCulloch Kart that got restored on the show American Restoration? It was awesome to the point that I would love to find and old kart. They restored the engine and all and when it was all done it ripped. I tried to find a video clip or a pic, but couldn't

The two factory box mufflers Mac have for their big saws are these one without a mount and one with the one without fits the SP125, 105 oval style exhaust opening

The one above fits the 101aa and 101b and 101c, 91b/1 92 93
