You mean to tell me that wild thing was an actual running saw, not some gimmick. I do not think I have ever seen a pic of a chainsaw with NOS on it before let alone a wild thing.

I was told in PM's it ran for a short time before :help:. ;) I had a conversation with him about it in PM's but cant remember it to pass info on.

I see the red button on the handle to turn on the NOS. That would mean there would have to be a solenoid for the nitrous and also something for the extra fuel that is required at the same time. Then both of those would have to be piped into the intake some how. That would be tricky and alot of experimentation to get it right. But when the button is pushed look out.

Aaron, if you don't muffler mod that saw before you start using it you will shortly. The mod is the only way these saws run decent.

Don't worry Randy. I removed the tube and enlarged the outlet while I was waiting for my AV buffers and other parts to be unearthed from King Tut's tomb and shipped to me. Never even fired it up before I modded the muffler.

the origional ugly dawgs can be made to look like this in about 10 minutes and an angle grinder with a thin cut off wheel.....View attachment 278164

That does look good. Big improvement.

Sniff, sniff. That bar smells strangly familiar. :msp_tongue:

That's right Carl. It's a good match. Very happy with it. Looking forward to the day when I get that saw squared away and can cut with it. The other bar is going on my XL-103. Gonna swap a 3/8" tip on it from another bar. Will save the .325 tip for something in the future.....

I am also waiting for you to cut some wood with it. Now that you have done all this work to it and want to see what you think of the saw.

4200

Well I promised myself I wouldn't touch a saw until I got my bucking stand built which I did. Then I was supposed to put a carb kit and new throttle shaft in my XL-902 in and then work on another red one then the 4200. After spending several hours blowiing snow for the neighbours today, (I've found being a kindly and always there for you neighbour lets me make saw noises whenever I want to) I decided to hell with those red saws (no offence intended becasue they are great saws), I'll get the 4200 going since it's gonna be my second most favoured saw.

I got to tell you, I didn't try a cut because the little bit of rounds I have left are covered with snow and frozen to the ground but the only thing that sounds better to me than those big Poulans is "Honey I up here waiting for you"

Picked up a 375 and the carb is a Zama C3A and the only other #'s are WS 07P.Would anyone what kit goes to it searches on Zama don't find the #. Thanks and Thanks J.J.

Rebuild kit=Oregon #49-899/Zama #rb-31

Gasket and Diaphragm kit=Oregon #49-893/Zama #GND-21

Not too bad!!!
Where were you for all those years I spent searching for a 4000???
I'd sure like to have that one.......................if I didn't already have 3.

Mike

I had one before, and sold it to a buddy in Northern Ky.

I doubt this one hangs around. I love em, but if they don't get ran, I hate to keep em. I have a 4200 and a 5200 gathering dust too. :(

If you need someone to send it to, I'll pm you my address.

I keep offering when you guys complain about too many saws, but no one seems to bite...lol.
