I'm hopping the local small engine repair has the time-cert tools so I wouldn't have to buy the whole kit. Unless I'm not reading correctly it looks very expensive.

Sorry about that. I should have looked first. I think over $190 for a kit is pretty dear. I didn't think they would be that much.

Good idea checking with a small engine repair shop

Of those 4 saws, i paid the most for the Jim Beam micro! $15. Had to have it. Don't ask me why.

Stop by your FLAPS (friendly, local, auto, parts store) like O'Reilleys. The have helicoils and will let you borrow the installation kit. IDK about the timeserts, maybe they have those also.

Also, bite the bullet and pull the jug. Just clobbering out the hole with a hand held dirllmotor leads to failure.

I finally moved on from my stuck in the rut 20" bars. Got this 28" Windsor in an HU (D009) mount for my 5200 (it is on the 4200). The real reason I picked it up was so my wife could buy me something reasonably priced for my birthday, like a chain for the bar.

Tell her you want one with 92DL...

What are you using for stud spacers?

Thanks.

I'm using a Windsor "S" spacer that came with the saw. I have a couple but have made a few using the windshield wiper spring steel that works quite well. It's not quite as wide as the Windsor ones but the thickness is perfect. They can be doubled up and still clear the bar thickness.
I think if I had a lathe I'd get some 5/16" tube (ID) and turn it down to 3/8" or just bore some out of rod stock and turn it down.

Appreciate it, Tim! Thanks to you I now have a freaking collection of old windshield wiper blades. :msp_rolleyes:

very nice, but your muffler needs the pipe blowing forward a bit to keep the cylinder clean...

I'm guessing that's missing due to a poor weld / braze job at the factory. I was thinking on just putting a straight pipe out and putting it on my 5200 as the stock elbow pipe is pointing straight at my NOS chain brake handle. I figure it would burn the paint off in short order. The straight pipe would just blow the exhaust gas right past it.
