i was going to go that route but i needed monday morn

i would have done the same. nothing beats having it now. i guess if yer saving over $100 it could wait but for $82. yeehaaww. can't argue with that.

I just got one on the bay for pretty cheap. It's amazing what comes out of carbs when I use it.

Usc

I have one also.
The big issue is what to use as a cleaning medium.
I used hot soapy water to clean air filter, worked ok.
Mix of vinegar and water and a splash of soap on carbs, worked ok.
Not wanting to fill the entire USC with medium, I used a glass jar filled with the part and the medium.
The jar was set in the USC that was filled with water to transmit the energy from the Xducer to the part to be cleaned.
I will used this method when I use kero or other solvent. To save on medium and keep the USC clean.
The only complaint so far is the short time cycle. Four min. is not long enough for filthy parts.
This requires a reset every four min, you can't set and forget like my brass cleaner, which has run for days on end.
I'll be watching to get new info and pointers

For those that may be looking at buying this unit, I know my local Hazard Fraught Tools is having their parking lot sale next Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Times may vary in your location, but it may be worth checking on if you are ready to drop the coin on one.

I think I would take it apart and bypass the timer.

Scott, take my advice and pull a little sealant around the buttons. The buttons on my first one finally failed bc of liquid getting in. I bought another one (non-runner on Ebay ($24 shipped)..needed to have a connection soldered inside) and I sealed it with Yamabond bf it was used. These are very nice units for the money.

the same here too,,, with my luck they will have it for 50.00:bang::bang::bang:

i do have a questions for the experts,, does it hurt to leave the solution in the tub all the time????

Those thing just save you time

Seems mine is running every day when I'm working on saws I just dump everything I can in it then rinse the parts off and blow dry them

I used my sons expensive USC to clean a carb and found that worked wonders. I wonder though if there might be a problem with any internal carb parts that are not metal. I recently rebuilt a Stihl 015 Walbro HDC carb and there seemed to be a rubber type plug under the checkvalve(I believe that's what it is). Wouldn't the USC dissolve it?

Try this stuff

Lyman Turbo Sonic Ultrasonic Steel Cleaning Solution Liquid

Gunsmith I know recommended it as it's what he uses in his USC for cleaning the crud out of hard to reach areas after the firearm is field stripped. It works very well on metal parts. The only issue, and it's no biggie is if you're cleaning an anodized aluminum piece such as a frame, be sure to leave the heat function off and run the part(s) through a couple cycles instead.

I have played with using Simple Green in my USC as well. It works well but did foam up (a lot) while I was going up the proper concentration learning curve.

Take Care
